Ethan researches and writes the Graze Journal's guides on slow feeding, digestion, and enrichment, and picks the products the site recommends. Claims about health and behavior are written to be hedged and practical — where a symptom needs a vet, the articles say so plainly rather than guessing.

How the guides get written
Every guide starts with the same question a reader would ask out loud — why a dog inhales its food, whether a slow feeder actually helps, which bowl fits a particular breed — and works down from there. Product picks come from spec-level comparison (material, ridge depth and spacing, base stability, dishwasher safety) plus hands-on use of the bowls and mats we sell, and long-running reader feedback about what fails in practice: bowls that slide across tiles, mats that shed fill, ridge patterns that defeat flat-faced dogs.
Where we stop
Graze is not a veterinary practice, and nothing here is a diagnosis. Bloat, repeated vomiting, sudden appetite changes and weight loss are vet territory, and the articles say so at the point where a reader might otherwise keep reading and self-treat. Where evidence is thin — much of the slow-feeding research is small or indirect — the wording stays hedged rather than borrowing certainty the studies don't have.
